LKB has provided comprehensive engineering investigation, design, construction administration, environmental, and permitting services, including: extensive investigations in and around the landfill to define existing environmental conditions; negotiations with the NYSDOS and NYSDEC regarding implementation of the remediation program; and development of design drawings and specifications for all components of the remediation program.

The work components comprising this remediation program included: groundwater recovery wells, conveyance piping, and treatment system; capping and closure of the landfill; leachate collection/treatment system design; and landfill gas control system design.

LKB was responsible for the management and direction of all investigations and engineering design associated with this undertaking. This included an extensive program to keep local communities and residents advised of the program's progress and to respond to numerous questions raised on their behalf. LKB was also responsible for supporting the Town of Oyster Bay in its negotiations with NYSDEC for obtaining EQBA Title 3 funding for this program. LKB prepared the initial Title 3 application and provided all necessary support in negotiations with NYSDEC. Over $12M has been received from the State.
