As part of a design/build team working for the Port Authority, LKB is
providing Electrical Engineering design services for the expedited
reconstruction of the PATH connection between the Exchange Place station
in New Jersey and the temporary World Trade Center (WTC) station in New
York.
LKB’s design services have included the following:
- 27KV electrical distribution system at Exchange Place, including
cable runs between the existing substation and the tunnels;
- new 27KV equipment room (architectural, electrical, fire
protection, structural, and HVAC design);
- new disconnect switches, with electrical controls and key
interlocks interfaced with Washington Street, Exchange Place, and a
new WTC substation;
- new signal room at Exchange Place (electrical, HVAC, fire
protection, architectural, and structural design), including signal
equipment design and installation, installation of signal cables and
raceways in the signal room and between the signal room and the
tunnels;
- installation of signals, signs, signal switching devices, and
signal cables at the temporary WTC station and between the station and
the tunnels;
- design of signal equipment and connections and their installation
in three signal rooms at the temporary WTC station (electrical); and
- electrical power supply to signal rooms at Exchange Place and
temporary World Trade Center Station.
In addition to our electrical engineering services, LKB is the sole
surveying firm on the PATH Restoration, from Exchange Place to Ground
Zero.
