LKB surveyors at Ground Zero.

LKB is proud to be the lead surveyors on the World Trade Center Recovery and to have provided survey and mapping services to the NYCDDC as well as the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, most notably for the ongoing PATH Restoration.

LKB has been involved at Ground Zero from recovery to restoration. When called upon to lead the survey effort, we responded with eight of our own crews, two supervisors, and coordinated as many as ten crews simultaneously. LKB established horizontal and vertical controls for the entire site (still in effect), coordinated all site survey data, provided 24/7 safety monitoring (overhanging steel, slurry-wall, crane pads, etc.), daily layouts/stakeouts, and as-builts for over 1,000 slurry-wall tie-backs.

LKB has been the sole surveying firm for the PATH Restoration, from Exchange Place to Ground Zero, providing existing condition survey for design, tunnel surveys utilizing a state-of-the-art 3-D laser tunnel scanner, all survey layout for restoration of existing tubes, station, and reconstruction west of Exchange Place, safety monitoring, and as-builts for the entire project. In addition to our survey work, as part of a design/built team, LKB is providing electrical engineering design services for the PATH Reconstruction from Exchange Place to Ground Zero.

LKB has always been a major player in construction survey for New York City landmark projects such as the Bear Stearns World Headquarters, New York Times College Point Printing Plant, Penn Plaza Redevelopment, Theatre Row Redevelopment, and Brooklyn College. Recent clients include Turner Construction Company, Bovis Lend Lease, Barney Skanska, Inc., Forest City Ratner, and E. W. Howell.
