 LKB has
provided structural engineering services to virtually all major agencies
in the New York Metropolitan Area. Our expertise includes engineering
inspection, analysis and evaluation, as well as both design and
construction inspection for major municipal facilities such as bridges,
buildings, marine bulkheading, and docks. We have performed numerous
bridge inspections in the course of bridge rehabilitation projects, and
have a fully-equipped staff of bridge inspectors including
NYSDOT-certified Team Leaders and Quality Control Engineers.
On projects such as the Cross Bronx/Bruckner Expressway, LKB inspected
over 1.2 million square feet of bridge deck. Other notable inspection
project examples include the inspection of 9 bridges on the Long Island
Expressway and 8 bridges on the Cross Westchester Expressway.
LKB's structural engineers have designed numerous new and replacement
bridge structures, including railroad bridges and water crossings. Our
bridge rehabilitation projects range from basic maintenance to the
replacement of significant portions of existing structures, including
full superstructure replacements and widening.
LKB has an ongoing program of building inspections, concentrating on
Phase I and II Site investigations including numerous high-rise
buildings in the New York Metropolitan area. We have also performed
structural inspection and repair for various municipal buildings and
facilities.
In the realm of marine transport, LKB has provided survey, design and
construction inspection for boat docking and launching facilities,
seawalls, jetties, piers, and dredging projects. Clients include port
authorities and agencies, commercial and industrial firms, and operators
of public and private recreational marine complexes.
